The Marooned Testudine

Yesterday we went to Sea World. While there, we visited Turtle Reef, and a very large turtle appeared to be caught beneath some of the coral in the tank. She was very still, but occasionally she would wave her flipper slowly, as if she was waving goodbye to the world.

This morning, after a fitful night of sleep spent worrying about this coral-locked turtle, I sent the following sincere, yet slightly humorous email to Sea World.

At Sea World San Diego yesterday, March 9, we saw a turtle that appeared to be stuck under some coral. She looked wedged in there pretty good. Was she really stuck, and did she die? Please respond. We’re worried.

I do hope I get a response.
